Team Lead & Technical Product Manager - Integrations

At Ematiq, we build real-time algorithmic trading systems that depend on a large ecosystem of market integrations, data connectors and internal tooling. Reliability and speed of these integrations directly affect trading EV.

We are looking for a hybrid technical product manager & team leadership role. You will lead a development team and own the product area: proactively discover the right problems, bring your own proposals, shape priorities with Trading and other stakeholders and make sure the team delivers the highest-value work with predictable quality. You don’t only process requests, you actively find where integrations and related tooling limit trading EV or burn engineering time and you propose solutions.

The product area

You will own the Market Data & Feeds side of Integrations.

In practice, that means a broad portfolio of connectors, data feeds and shared integration capabilities, for example services across odds/data providers, sports feeds, exchanges related tooling, shared integration commons and related operational tooling.

You own your product area end-to-end: discovery, prioritization, delivery, production health, and team outcomes where stakeholder intake is an important input.

What this role is

You combine two key pillars:

1) Product Management pillar

• Proactively discover opportunities in your area - from production pain, stakeholder friction, usage gaps and domain insight, not only from inbound tickets.
• Clarify business problems with Trading and other stakeholders.
• Originate and pitch initiatives; come with your own prioritized recommendations, not only facilitate others’ ideas.
• Turn "what & why" into an executable backlog.
• Pitch priorities, make tradeoffs explicit, keep delivery connected to impact.
• Coordinate dependencies and keep stakeholders informed.

2) Team Lead pillar

• Lead the engineering team day to day.
• Hiring, onboarding, 1:1s, growth, feedback, performance.
• Keep the team healthy, focused and able to ship.
• Partner with the Tech Lead on technical direction (you own people + product priority; Tech Lead owns technical quality of the domain).

What will be your daily responsibilities?

Product discovery & prioritization

• Run continuous discovery: talk to Trading/ops/users, spot bottlenecks, and turn pain into opportunities.
• Originate and pitch initiatives for your portfolio - stakeholder intake is an input, not the whole roadmap.
• Keep a clear prioritized queue and make tradeoffs and "what we’re not doing" explicit.
• Own and pitch the sprint plan for your stream, balancing new work vs reliability and tech debt.

Delivery leadership

• Keep delivery on track: unblock people, chase dependencies, close open loops.
• Make sure work shipping to production is predictable and well communicated.
• Treat recurring production pain as first-class backlog input.
• Improve lead time and ticket quality; reduce mid-sprint thrash.

Team leadership

• Act as Hiring Manager (team composition, bar, onboarding).
• Run 1:1s, set development goals, and give clear, timely feedback.
• Build psychological safety and blameless learning from incidents.

Required skills & experience

• Experience as Engineering Manager, Team Lead, Technical PM or Product Manager of an engineering team.
• Proven ability to lead developers while owning product outcomes.
• Strong stakeholder management with business users (ideally trading, ops, marketplace, fintech or similar).
• Ability to discover problems, prioritize ruthlessly, and explain tradeoffs in plain language.
• Enough technical depth to discuss APIs, distributed services, reliability, and delivery constraints confidently.
• Excellent communication, ownership and follow-through.
• Comfort in a fast environment with production pressure and incomplete information.
• Ability to use AI tools in day-to-day product work (discovery, drafting specs, analysis, prioritization support).
• Proficiency in Czech/Slovak and fluency in English.

Nice to have

• Background in integrations, data pipelines, marketplace connectors, scraping/feeds, or real-time systems.
• Experience in fintech, trading, betting, payments, or high-availability B2B platforms.
• Experience hiring and growing engineers.
• Familiarity with Python ecosystems.
• Experience turning internal tooling into a real product (adoption, docs, measurable time saved).
• Hands-on experience applying AI to product work to move faster and raise quality (research, drafting, data analysis, workflow automation).
